Third Meeting of Young CEAC
The third Young CEAC meeting was held on Friday, 17th of April. The law firm DLA Piper and the Young CEAC speaker Nathalie Jäger proved to be marvellous hosts for an interesting and entertaining evening.
Following a quick introduction round Yiliang Dong (Brödermann & Jahn, Hamburg), a Chinese trained lawyer, gave an overview of the new CIETAC Online Arbitration Rules, which will come into force on May 1st 2009. His presentation was followed by a fruitful discussion of online dispute resolution and the use of new technologies in traditional arbitrations.
Afterwards the discussion turned to organisational matters. The Young CEAC members discussed when the next meeting should be held and how Young CEAC should contribute to the upcoming one year anniversary of CEAC. Members also emphasized the international approach of Young CEAC and looked at various strategies to involve more young Chinese colleagues and address a bigger circle of European young colleagues.
The evening concluded in the exchange of personal experiences with China.
